UGC NET 2013
UGC which stands for "University Grants Commission" is a statutory organisation set up by Union government in 1956, for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education. UGC was formally started by late Abul Kalam Azad, the then Minister of Education, Natural Resources and Scientific Research on 28 December 1953. The Chairman of University Grants Commission is Prof. S.K. Thorat .
UGC examination is conducted every year to determine the eligibility of Indian Nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and for appointment of Lecturers in Science and Arts subjects. Different States qualified by the UGC conduct State Level Eligibility Tests (SLET) for the same purpose. The syllabus is more or less the same for NET & SLET
HOW TO APPLY for UGC NET 2013:-
i) The candidates are required to download the Bank Challan Performa from the UGC website OR take photocopy from the UGC-NET Notification published in the Employment News and then deposit the requisite test fee in any branch of State Bank of India along with the bank charges (commission) of Rs.20/-.
